Jurassic Park tour at Kualoa Ranch: which tour sees which movie sites

Jurassic & movie tours
In short: three of our seven tours are "movie tours" because they visit filming locations. The budget-friendly jungle and movie-sites tours (1.5 hours each) both see Jurassic and Kong locations on an open-air vehicle. The premium Jurassic tour (2.5 hours) adds a rainforest trek and Battery Cooper, a WWII bunker now full of movie props and memorabilia. All three visit Kaʻaʻawa Valley (the "Jurassic Valley" from the films), but the premium tour digs deeper. Below: which tour sees what.
Jungle expedition$62.77, sees Jurassic World & Kong sites
Movie-sites tour$62.77, sees Jurassic Park, Godzilla, Jumanji, Kong
Jurassic premium$157.02, all above + rainforest trek + Battery Cooper bunker

The three movie-related tours: side by side

Kualoa Ranch hosted filming for Jurassic Park, Jurassic World, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, 50 First Dates, Pearl Harbor, Windtalkers, and TV shows Lost and Hawaii Five-0. All three movie tours visit the same general Kaʻaʻawa Valley where much of this was filmed. The difference is depth, time, and access.

Jungle expedition ($62.77, 1.5 hours): the budget movie tour

Open-air vehicle through Hakipuʻu rainforest and Kaʻaʻawa Valley. You see Jurassic World and Kong: Skull Island filming sites. Rated 4.5 from 1,218 reviews — the most booked tour on the ranch. Guide Gabby shared native fruits and nuts and told fun stories. Guide Sammy G got called "Best guide ever." Guide Chelsea mixed information with humour. This is the entry-level movie tour: iconic views, good explanations, solid guide quality, and the lowest price.

Movie-sites tour ($62.77, 1.5 hours): the broader movie tour

Open-air safari vehicle through the same valley. You see Jurassic Park (1993, the famous fallen-tree and stampede valley), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Godzilla, and King Kong: Skull Island locations. Rated 4.6 from 683 reviews. Guide Precious is noted for being very informative. Brian & Trudy went with guide Evan. Jessica’s sons loved it; she noted "every time I now watch Jurassic Park…" Reviewer Krystal called it "best tour i did by far." Same time and price as the jungle tour, but covers more film franchises if you are a multi-film fan.

Jurassic Movie Set Adventure ($157.02, 2.5 hours): the premium dive

This is the deep-dive tour. Same Kaʻaʻawa Valley, same Jurassic locations as the other two, but with added time and access. You get a rainforest trek section on foot — not just a vehicle ride — plus panoramic valley views from higher vantage points. Most importantly, this is the ONLY tour that includes Battery Cooper, a real WWII-era concrete bunker visited on the ranch. It is now packed with movie memorabilia and props from the films. Rated 4.6 from 120 reviews. Marta said the guide was "like an artist at work." Daniel J. praised how well the guide worked with children. Nick called it "well worth the $$." If you love Jurassic and have an extra hour and budget, this is the pick.

Which films were actually filmed at Kualoa Ranch

Battery Cooper: the memorabilia bunker (premium tour only)

Battery Cooper is a real military installation — a WWII-era concrete bunker built on the ranch to monitor the valley during the war. The ranch operators have preserved it and filled it with film props and memorabilia from movies shot on the property. This is visited on the Jurassic Movie Set premium tour only ($157.02). Not included on the $62.77 jungle or movie-sites tours. If seeing actual film memorabilia and a piece of Oahu history matters to you, upgrade to the premium tour.

Frequently asked questions

Which movie tour should I book?

If on a budget: jungle ($62.77, 1.5 h, Jurassic World & Kong sites) or movie-sites ($62.77, Jurassic Park, Godzilla, Jumanji, Kong). If time and budget allow: Jurassic premium ($157.02, 2.5 h, adds rainforest trek & Battery Cooper memorabilia bunker). Read which tour suits your trip for your exact scenario.

What is the difference between jungle and movie-sites tours?

Both are $62.77, 1.5 hours, same price. Jungle focuses on Jurassic World & Kong. Movie-sites covers Jurassic Park, Godzilla, Jumanji, & Kong. Pick the jungle or movie-sites based on which films matter most to you.

Why does the Jurassic premium cost more?

Jurassic premium ($157.02, 2.5 h) is longer than jungle/movie-sites ($62.77, 1.5 h). It includes a rainforest trek on foot and exclusive access to Battery Cooper, a WWII bunker full of movie props and memorabilia. Longer duration + specialized access = higher price.

What is Battery Cooper?

A real WWII-era concrete bunker on the ranch, now full of movie memorabilia and props from films shot at Kualoa. Visited on the Jurassic Movie Set premium tour ($157.02) only — not on the $62.77 jungle or movie-sites tours.

Did all these movies really film at Kualoa?

Yes, confident list only: Jurassic Park (1993), Jurassic World, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla, Jumanji, 50 First Dates, Pearl Harbor, Windtalkers, Lost, Hawaii Five-0. The three movie tours focus on Jurassic, Kong, Godzilla, & Jumanji. Read Jurassic Park tour for which film appears on which tour.

Can I just see the Jurassic locations without the guide?

No. The ranch is private with no public trails or walk-in access. Entry is by guided tour only. Read can you visit without a tour and free Kualoa Regional Park alternative.

Which tour is most popular with film fans?

The Jurassic Movie Set premium ($157.02). It is the only one with Battery Cooper memorabilia and a rainforest trek. But if budget is tight, jungle or movie-sites ($62.77) both deliver solid Jurassic/Kong experiences.
